Senior Chaplain Tom Burton
organized and implemented the Chaplaincy Department for the
Sheriff’s Office and has been serving since 1993. He holds a
Masters in Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary.

MISSION STATEMENT |
| The mission of the Chaplain's
Division of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department is
to serve the personnel, the community and the inmates as
a supportive volunteer group of qualified ministers and
counselors, who will assist, by request, in matters of
personal, marriage, job or spiritual counseling and be
available to assist in time of emergency as needed. |

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and Chaplaincy
have established a Trust fund for Deputy Nyeayea's
family. If you would like to make a contribution

be deposited into the Lea Nyeayea Family Trust for the
benefit of his family through his wife, Nehlay Nyeayea.
